Mitten im Welterbe

In der Gemeinde Kramfors finden Sie unter anderem die Schuhfabrik von Docksta (Docksta Skofabrik), Schwedens höchste Insel Mjältön, die preisgekrönte Whiskybrennerei High Coast Distillery und das Hotel Höga Kusten, wo Sie mit Blick auf das Meer und die Hochküstenbrücke aufwachen. Außerdem hält das Ausflugsboot Ådalen III in Kramfors an, bevor es den Fluss hinauf durch die Landschaft der Hohen Küste gleitet. 

Die urigen Fischerdörfer Barsta und Bönhamn sind einen Ausflug wert. Von dort kann man im Sommer eine nette Rundtour unternehmen: Von einem der beiden Orte mit der Fähre auf die Insel Högbonden übersetzen, dort den Leuchtturm und das Café besuchen, zum anderen Ort zurückfahren und die sechs Kilometer zum Ausgangsort wandern. 

An warmen Tagen laden die Klippen im Naturschutzgebiet Rotsidan und der Strand Storsands Havsbad zum (Sonnen-)Baden ein. Neben Letzterem befindet sich das Fischerdorf Norrfällsviken mit dem Restaurant Fiskarfänget, das Essen am Pier serviert. Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in Ferienhäusern und auf dem Campingplatz bietet Norrfällsvikens Camping & Stugby. Im Anschluss gibt es außerdem einen Golfplatz.

Das Tal ab Junsele, durch das der Fluss Ångermanälven in Richtung Bottensee rauscht, nennt man kurz „Ådalen“. Dort sind kulturelle und historische Sehenswürdigkeiten in die Landschaft gestreut. Rund um den See Norafjärden gibt es sehenswerte Wanderwege und Panoramastraßen. 

In Nordingrå zeigt sich das UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe Höga Kusten von seiner kunstvollen Seite: Dort haben mehrere Künstler ihre Ateliers und es gibt inspirierende Ausstellungen. Das Freilichtmuseum Mannaminne ist auch ein Gesamtkunstwerk: Dort hat Künstler Anders Åberg (1945-2018) Gebäude und kuriose Artefakte aus aller Welt zusammengetragen.

Norabygden – die Dörfer rund um den See Norafjärden

In der Landschaft und in den Dörfern rund um den See Norafjärden findet man viele Dinge, die typisch für die Hohe Küste sind: Straßen und Wanderwege mit herrlicher Aussicht, dramatische Berge, Picknickplätze und kleine Häfen in naturbelassenen Buchten.

Rund um den See verläuft die 35 Kilometer lange Panoramastraße „Turistvägen“. Egal, ob mit dem Auto oder zu Fuß: Diesen Rundweg sollte man einmal absolvieren. In Torrom gibts einen Supermarkt, wo Sie sich einen Kaffee mitnehmen können. Schauen Sie sich auch die Kirche Nora Kyrka an und machen Sie einen Abstecher zum Honigladen (Honungscafeét) mit Café. 

Dann gehts weiter durch die hügelige Landschaft durch die Dörfer in Richtung Osten. In Östanö sollten Sie die „Speisekammer“ (Skafferi) mit dem Café nicht verpassen, das für seine Rhabarberkuchen bekannt ist. Gönnen Sie sich eine Pause auf dem Rastplatz mit Blick auf die Bucht Ramstafjärden oder machen Sie einen Abstecher ins Fischerdorf Berghamns Fiskeläge. Dort steht eine der größten Fischerkapellen Schwedens. 

Der nächste Stopp ist der Campingplatz in Hårsang (Hörsång Camping), zu dem auch ein Sandstrand gehört. Am östlichsten Ufer des Sees Norafjärden stehen urige Holzhütten. Vom Norafjärden Naturrastplatz haben Sie eine herrliche Aussicht.

Dann gehts südlich vom See zurück ins Hinterland. In Lövvik, das idyllisch zwischen dem Norafjärden und dem Meer gelegen ist, hat der schwedische Sänger Tomas Ledin seine Wurzeln. Er hat unter anderem mit den beiden ABBA-Sängerinnen zusammengearbeitet. Vielleicht lassen Sie sich zu einem Abendessen in Lövviks Restaurant und einer Übernachtung in Lövviks Bed & Breakfast hinreißen? 

Weitere traditionelle Hotels finden Sie in Nyadal: Das Hotel Höga Kusten und das Hotel Björkudden. Von der Route rund um den Norafjärden zweigen noch weitere Wanderwege ab. Die ersten drei Etappen des Höga-Kusten-Wanderwegs (Högakustenleden) verlaufen durch die Noralandschaft. Ein Tipp ist auch Erik Daniels Weg, benannt nach einem Freigeist, der im 19. Jahrhundert lebte. Er zimmerte 21 Holzhütten in der Landschaft, in die er sich zurückzog. Ein Netz aus Wanderpfaden verbindet diese urigen Unterkünfte, die bis heute erhalten sind.

For the culture-interested

Cultural expressions of various kinds have a long history in Kramfors. The magnificent nature has inspired many artists and musicians over the years, and still does today. Nordingrå in particular has

long been a hub for art and culture practitioners. Every year during the Whitsun weekend, Nordingrå Konstrunda takes place, but many artists also open up their studios in the summer.

And don't miss the all-art work/museum Mannaminne with its permanent and temporary exhibitions. In the village of Vännersta you find Nordingrå art village, with courses and workshops, a shop, an organic café and several exhibition rooms. Kramfors´ art gallery shares premises with the library, centrally located at the square in Kramfors.

There is also a variety of exciting stories and cultural environments. The dramatic witch trials are told at the Witch Museum, the industrial era at Ådalen's Industrial Museum and Ådalen 31 can be followed through a walking tour or on site in Lunde, where the shots fell. Nice summer cafés can be found, for example, at Ytterlännäs medieval church and Mariebergs cultural reserve, where you can also visit an intact sawmill community from the 1800s. Picturesque fishing villages can be found in both Norrfällsviken and Bönhamn. From Bönhamn. and Barsta, with its beautiful chapel, there are also tour boats to Högbonden's lighthouse and nature reserve. Last, but not least, there are several stages with music and theater during the summers, such as Naturscen Skuleberget and Höga Kusten Open-Air Theater. Eating in Kramfors

Finding something good to eat and drink in Kramfors municipality is not difficult. Especially in the summer many restaurants, cafés and farm shops are open. A waffle at the top of mount Skuleberget, a good dinner at a distillery, a glass of wine at a hotel at the foot of the High Coast Bridge, that sounds good, doesn't it? And we don't stop there – delicacies at Sweden's oldest flatbread bakery, shrimp feasts in the far coast, high-quality pizza by the Kramforsån... Need we say more?

Outdoor

Kramfors municipality is blessed with a variety of outdoor activities that cater to both locals and visitors, always close to nature, tranquility and adventure.

There are extensive networks of hiking trails that stretch through forests and over mountains, making it an ideal place for hiking enthusiasts. Those who prefer cycling also have plenty of opportunities, country roads that offer scenic routes. For those interested in fishing, there are several fish conservation areas with fine fishing waters where you can catch both game fish, pike and perch. 

If you want to go for a swim, there are several seas and lakes to explore. Also a temperate outdoor bath, Flogstabadet. The more adventurous person can climb up mount Skuleberget as Via Ferrata offers a unique adrenaline rush and a fantastic adventure in the middle of the High Coast. Skuleberget has the world record for land elevation. At the top, 289 meters above sea level, you will find the world's highest coastline. Nowhere else in the world the country risen so much since the last ice age. During the summer you can also take the cable car up to the top.

Activities & Entertainment

In Kramfors municipality you will find a varied range of activities. For those who love to play boules, there are several courts available where you can enjoy a game with friends and family. Mount Skuleberget is a popular destination for outdoor activities. The cable car takes visitors to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy stunning views and explore the area's hiking trails. 

For golf enthusiasts, there is the terrific opportunity to play golf at Norrfällsviken's golf course, which offers a challenging course and beautiful nature. For a fun and relaxed day with family or friends, you can play mini golf or frisbee golf at one of the facilities located in the municipality. Take a boat trip out to Ulvön or along the river with Ådalen III. During the summer, concerts are organized on Naturscen Skuleberget.

The number of nature experiences in Kramfors municipality is almost endless. The High Coast offers nature, culture, views, peace and quiet, but is also perfect for those who are looking for challenges and adventures.

In the Skuleskogens national park, which is also located in Örnsköldsvik municipality, you can experience fantastic hiking, don't miss Slåttdalsskrevan.

Mount Skuleberget rises above all the others mountains and the view from its top is breathtaking. A coffee at the top is definitely not wrong! In Kramfors municipality there are many other opportunities to enjoy nice views. Many have taken pride in climbing at least one of them per year, maybe you also want to join in?
