Description
Just north of Skuleberget you can visit the somewhat hidden gem Nätra Fjällskog. There are activities for both summer and winter. The snow settles early in the season and remains in the spring as the area is high up.
In Nätra Fjällskog there are 8 rest houses and in winter a XC ski trail of about 30 kilometres. At the starting points there is parking, open cabins and information boards. The outdoor area has a trail connection with Vibyggerå outdoor area in Docksta, Kramfors municipality. The highest point in the forest is 430 metres above sea level and is called Västanåhöjden. There is a wind shelter at the top of the hill, offering an incredible, mile-wide view of the sea bays in the east and towards the hilly mountain landscape in the west.
The trail system connects about 10 shepherd's huts. Several of the cabins are open for a coffee break or an overnight stay. On weekends during the spring winter, you can buy hot drinks, sausages, semlor and more from the cabin hosts at Västanå Fäbodar. Take a look at their Facebook page for possible opening hours.
At the starting points at Hinnsjöstugan and Skrikestugan you will find car parks, information boards and open cabins.
